We at First Baptist Church of Oak Grove believe that God has called us to this task: “to lead families to Connect with God, to Grow in their walk with Christ and others, to Serve in ministry and to Go to the lost.”
It is our purpose and desire as members of First Baptist Church of Oak Grove to help extend the Kingdom of God here and around the world through our cooperative prayers, labors and offerings. We preach always the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ for the salvation of those who are lost and for the edification of those who are saved. It is our hope that many that would find a church home for worship and service shall feel a sincere welcome among us. Our vision statement sums up well what we are about as a Body of Christ. We seek to lead families to Connect to God, Grow in their walk with Christ and others, Serve in ministry and Go to the lost. This is a good summary of what we are about, but for information on our specific beliefs, please see the link below for the Baptist Faith & Message.

“We are an association of Baptist churches in the Greater Kansas City area who are partnered together to accelerate hope to those in our city, our nation, and our world.”

The Missouri Baptist Convention (MBC) is a network of over 1,700 independent Southern Baptist churches that work together to carry out the Great Commission. Missouri Baptists elect an Executive Board that oversees the convention’s ministries, which in turn are carried out by the MBC missionary staff. MBC ministries are funded by the faithful giving of Missouri Baptists through the Cooperative Program through their local churches. Missouri Baptists recognize eight regional areas in the state and work cooperatively with 58 Baptist associations. Each association represents a number of Baptist churches in a particular region.”

The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) has grown to be a network of more than 50,000 cooperating churches and church-type missions banded together to make an impact of God’s Kingdom. While no two Southern Baptist churches are alike, there are certain commonalities that bind Southern Baptists together, regardless of ethnicity, socio-economic status, language, or locale.

As a part of the Southern Baptist Convention, the IMB exists to serve Southern Baptists in carrying out the Great Commission to make disciples of all nations. Through the Cooperative Program and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering®, Southern Baptist churches support thousands of missionaries and missionary teams who are making disciples and planting churches around the world.

The North American Mission Board exists to work with churches, associations and state conventions in mobilizing Southern Baptists as a missional force to impact North America with the gospel of Jesus Christ through evangelism and church planting.
